This trip is the proof that if you have a weekend, you have a holiday in South East Asia.
Leaving Singapore on Friday night, we went to Medan, in Sumatra and slept there as the weekend was going to be very tiring: we planned a mountain treck in an Orangutan Sanctuary. The treck was a bit harsh, very spike but it was completely worth it, we saw a few orangutans and we slept in tents in the middle of the jungle.

Reminder: you must sacrifice comfort to see such amazing things.

Este viaje a Medan es la prueba de que en el sudeste asiático, si tienes un finde, tienes un viaje. Volamos a Sumatra un viernes por la noche y llegamos a Medan a la hora perfecta para ir a dormir. Al despertarnos nos esperaba una caminata por la selva bastante especial, ya que íbamos a un santuario de orangutanes. Un santuario es el lugar donde se reinsertan en la naturaleza animales que han sido esclavizados o sacados de su hábitat por cualquier motivo egoísta del ser humano. La caminata fue algo dura, había muchísima humedad y teníamos que llegar a la cima de la montaña, así que era bastante empinado, pero valió la pena. Vimos 3 orangutanes y muchos otros simios, dormimos en la jungla y nos bañamos en el río. Bukit Lawang valió la pena!
