Bromo has been one of the more underestimated and surprising of my trips. I thought I was going to climb a volcano and it was much more. We landed in Surabaya and drove for 9 hours to get to Ijen, so we reached there at night, 8pm. We slept until 1am and climbed the first volcano at night so we could see the sunrise, which is the one with the blue lake around it and a sulfur mine. The treck took something like 4 hours and it was so freezing that our guide needed to light a fire for us. After that we spend the rest of the day in his village, drinking coconuts and playing with the roosters. After that, he took us to the Bromo area, which is a village on the skirts of the Bromo volcano (the one in the romantic pic). A jeep took us there early in the morning and we waited on top of a mountain where we could see the sunrise behind the volcano. It was really cold and the volcano had magnetic energy, so our hairs were like in Dragon Ball.

Bromo ha sido uno de los viajes más subestimados hasta que llegamos allí y nos sorprendió. Aterrizamos en Surabaya y cogimos un coche hasta Ijen, donde se encuentra el primer volcán, el del lago azul y la mina de sulfuro. Llegamos al pueblo en Ijen por la noche y dormimos hasta la 1am, ya que teníamos que ver la salida del sol. El trecking duró 4 horas y fue impresionante. Un paisaje imposible de ver en cualquier otro lugar. Pasamos el resto del día jugando en el pueblo, bebiendo de los cocos y jugando con los gallos de la zona y por la tarde volvimos a coger el coche hasta Bromo. El pueblo de Bromo está a las faldas del volcán de Bromo y el día siguiente a las 4 de la mañana nos llevó un jeep hasta el volcán, este treck fue mucho más fácil, pero en ambos hacía muchísimo frío (se pueden alquilar abrigos en la cima del volcán).
El volcán de bromo es bastante impresionante, el suelo parece Marte y el pelo se electrifica hacia la dirección del volcán por el poder magnético.
