Shaxi is a very old and authentic village in Yunnan that takes you back to the ancient times of the Tea Horse trading road. All the roads and building are made of clay and stone, which makes it feel like an old western movie! Reaching there is not very easy as there’s no translation at all and you have to trust the people selling the bus tickets (which is very safe). We took a bus of 1:40 from Lijiang main bus station to Jianchuan bus station, and from there, there’s a mini bus that will take you to Shaxi and other small villages, just tell the driver that you go there. The mini bus will only start the engine when all the seats are full, which shouldn’t take long, but count on it.

Shaxi es un pueblecito muy antiguo y muy auténtico de Yunnan que te transportará a los tiempos de las rutas del Tea Horse. Todas las carreteras y edificios están hechos de adobo y el pueblo toma un color entre marrón y naranja, lo que casi te hace sentir como si estuvieras en una peli del antiguo oeste! Llegar hasta allí no es muy sencillo, ya que nada está escrito en caracteres latinos, así que tendrás que confiar en los conductores y vendedores de ticket de bus. Desde la estación de bus principal de Lijian, tomamos un bus de una hora y 40 minutos a Jianchuan. Desde ahí, cogimos un minibus de 45 minutos que te lleva a Shaxi y otros pueblos, simplemente avisa al conductor de que vas allí y él te dirá donde bajar. El mini bus arrancará cuando hayan llenado todos los asientos, lo que no debería llevar mucho tiempo, pero siempre es bueno tener en cuenta.
