This trip is a very special one.
My friends from Singapore decided to pay me a visit for Christmas and we couldn’t be more excited! Firstly they spent 3 days in Barcelona, when I took them around the city to visit the most iconic places and to relax a little bit before the action in Andalucia.
We spent the first 3 days in Granada and the other 4 in Sevilla and we think it was a fair split. Perhaps we would have liked to visit Córdoba, but this is the best we could do with everybody’s holidays.
In order to get to Granada, traveling to Málaga was way cheaper, then we took a bus to Granada, which was 2 hours.
Granada was all about good food, free tapas, drinks and some flamenco. Of course, we loved La Alhambra for all it means, it was an amazing walk. walked around the Albaicín and enjoyed the view. Also, we spend New Year’s Eve in Granada city, which was beautiful.
This is the plan we followed:
Day 1: After leaving the luggage in the hotel, we went to the city hall, where the countdown was happening. They gave us free confetti and grapes to eat while the countdown and we danced a bit to the music of the 80’s.
Day 2: We walked to the Albaicín and saw the amazing views of the Alhambra from the top of the hill. At night we watched a live flamenco performance that left us open-mouthed.

Day 3: We visited the Alhambra (you need to book it online weeks in advance. In the afternoon we couldn’t do much because a person in the trip was really sick.

Day 4: We visited the cathedral in Granada, walked down the city, the alcaicería, and the García Lorca park. On the evening we took a bus to Sevilla.
Sevilla was great! It was all I expected to be and much more.
Day 4: At night, when we arrived, we got in the Airbnb and ate near by la Giralda, with great prices and great food!

Day 5: We got into la Giralda, quite an amazing cathedral and going all the way up to the tower is very rewarding! The views of the city are great. There you can also see the where Christopher Columbus’s body is. A few guard statues carry him in a coffin and it’s very impressive!

This picture was taken just in front of Christopher Columbus coffin!

Day 6: We walked to Plaza de España, amazing place! Many movies were filmed there and it’s usually full of horses willing to take you around the city.

The same day we went to the Alcázar, probably the most amazing place I have ever been! The gardens are just amazing and endless and we loved how well taken care of everything was. Of course, we had to take some pictures reenacting The Game of Thrones scenes.

That same day, the 3 kings parade took place, so we spent the night enjoying it, but a few hours earlier, we went to Metropol Parasol, which is a very photogenic place, but we still don’t know the use of it.

As I told you, we couldn’t help it and recreated some scenes from our favourite shows that were shot in Andalucia:
Real Alcázar de Sevilla, Game of Thrones:

Plaza de España, Sevilla, Star Wars:

We only needed an R2D2 and that would have been just perfect!
Hope you enjoyed the post!
