Vienna and Bratislava

Hi again!

This time we took probably the most relaxed trip ever and Vienna was the perfect city for it. It’s as expensive as you want it, but you can make it cheaper. Let me explain below a bit more in detail what we did:

Day 1: Walk around the centre and Albertina museum.

As we landed at 9:00 in the morning, we still had plenty of time until it was time for us to check in the hotel, so we took the slow train to the city from the airport (S7, which is just 10 minutes slower than the express one and 15€ cheaper).

There’s a very nice view of the Albertina Platz from the Albertina museum, which keeps a nice balance between classic and modern pieces of art.

Day 2: Boat trip to Bratislava, Mozart concert, sacher torte in Sacher hotel

It was my birthday, so of course, my boyfriend planned it to be very packed with cool activities, which made us wake up at 7:00 so we could catch a boat. That boat took us to Bratislava, just 70 minutes crossing the Danube. In Bratislava we discovered Mondieu, a kind of cafe with amazing breakfasts and bites. We also walked around the city, which looks like a fairy tale land, and we found the famous Blue Church!

Later on we went to watch a Mozart and Strauss concert and ended the day blowing my birthday candle on a sacher torte in the Sacher Hotel.

Day 3: Belvedere, Therme Wien

We weren’t very lucky on our third day as the weather was terrible, but we managed to visit Belvedere and of course, the upper art expo, which held amazing classics! We saw the original The Kiss by Klimt and Napoleon crossing the alps by Jacques Louis David.

After that we went to the Therme, which was a very nice 3 hour experiece! We bathed in all the warm water pools and enjoyed the adventureland part for only 19€. You also get a locker and you can dry your hair in the facilities.

Day 4: Aida, Hundertwasserhaus, Griechengasse, Tel Aviv Beach, Spa hotel at Sans Souci

This was probably the coolest day for me: we had a bite before getting out of the apartment where we were staying and we had to pack because we were switching hotels! (my birthday present). We went to our new hotel: Sans Souci and checked in, but as we couldn’t get in before 15:00, we went photo hunting.

The first stop was Aida, a ver cool and cheap cafe where you can have a piece of cake for just 3€. Also they serve amazing breakfasts in 4 levels of food plates.

After that we walked to Hundertwasserhaus, a very interesting building that looks crazy on the outside. It’s usually crowded with tourist groups, but if you wait a bit, you can get a picture alone.

After that, we walked all the way to Griechengasse, which is a tiny area where streets are magical. Later we went to have lunch to Tel Aviv Beach, an open restaurant by the river. It resembles a beach bar, with sand on the ground and a few palm trees around it, but the food isn’t specially good. Also, they only take cash, we noticed that most restaurants do just in order to get tips.WhatsApp Image 2018-07-09 at 20.18.46WhatsApp Image 2018-07-09 at 20.15.50 (1)WhatsApp Image 2018-07-09 at 20.15.48 (1)

We got into the hotel at 15:30 and spent the rest of the afternoon in the spa, the steam room, the saunas and the swimming pool of our hotel. It was so nice and relaxong… I want to go back!

Day 5: Crazy breakfast, Walk around Judenviertel and fly back

The next day we woke up to a great breakfast with excellent pastry and eggs on order! We ate for an hour straight until we couldn’t eat no more. Later we took a walk around Juden Platz area.
